So many people have made the move to Jersey City in the past year; and with more people come more exciting events to enjoy, especially in the summer! Every week, Jersey City puts on their weekly live music events called “Groove on Grove,” where each week the outdoor concert series features a different musical artist every Wednesday. This family friendly event features genres anywhere from Bluegrass to Jazz. You can find the most up-to-date information on the Jersey City Independent’s website:

The Jersey City art scene has blossomed in recent month, partially due to the opening of many art galleries in the area as well as the Mana Contemporary Art Center. This museum has free admission on Saturdays, so it is the perfect outing for a family or group. In addition, the Hudson County Community College has partnered with students and local artists alike to curate the “La Dolce Vita” series: a group of collections and installations inspired by the vibrancy of life and change in seasons. Another way to get further involved in the art scene is to head to the Artist and Maker Market at the Grove Street PATH station every Wednesday. There, you have the opportunity to meet with local artists and learn about their individual craft. Most artists also have their work for sale, so you can take home a one of a kind Jersey City artisan good.
